Essex Special Skaters 2013

Published April 28, 2013 by Maryanne

Last night my husband Dennis and I had the pleasure of going to see Robby Stutts, son of our dear friends Bob and Marie Stutts, ice skate in the Special Skaters Spring Spectacular, along with other special needs skaters.

It was quite a show! Robbie was fantastic. In fact, he even won medals for his talents! (Here’s a recent article about him and some adorable pictures:

And here is a video of Robby skating from 2012: Robby Stutts

Robby is such a sweet kid and an inspiration! Go Robby!

Note: The delicious looking cupcake was made by Robby’s dad, Bob Stutts aka Mr. Fun, Funtime Cakes

You can like Funtime Cakes on Face Book:

After the show there was a little party for the skaters with coffee and Bob’s Funtime Cakes. It was so nice to see Bob, Maria and Robby again. All the kids were so adorable and having such a great time. Very inspiring!

    • That’s awesome, Andrew! Yes, this show was unbelievable! I loved it. The kids were unbelievable and the volunteers who helped them and made all the costumes — it was just a total class act!

      • The fact that you could have gone to so many other places, yet chose to see Robby skate tells me a lot about you and Dennis. You both have your priorities where they should be.

      • Aw, what a sweet thing to say! Thanks so much! The event was amazing. That little kid in the photo with Robby, all the way on the left, was so cute. He was dressed as a dinosaur and skated to the Jurastic Park theme. He was doing little jumps. Too precious and totally cool. The whole show — I can’t stop talking about it. Maybe someone filmed it and it will be on You Tube later today.

  • As we say in Louisiana, Geaux Robby! (That’s Go Robby everywhere else!) What a great young man. And speaking of great, that cake looks really good. Do you think Robby’s dad could bake a dog cake? Just a thought. 😉

      • I’m in Baton Rouge. We’re practically neighbors . . . sort of. 😉 My mommy always enjoys reading your comments on Miss Maryanne’s posts. You are such a kind gentleman, but of course you live in Louisiana, so we would expect nothing less! Have a beautiful Sunday and a wonderful week.

      • Have lived in Louisiana for about 60 of my 68 years with other years spent in Indiana where I was born and moved to Louisiana at the age of 2 and Army time in Indiana, Hawaii and Vietnam and lived in Tennessee from 2007-2010. Grew up in Pineville and lived in Sulphur for about two years. Have a great week and have been enjoying the comments, that your mommy makes on Miss Maryanne’s posts.
