Wow, just two days ago I wrote to a local restaurant complaining that they listed items that contained cheese as “vegetarian.” You can read the blog I wrote here: https://maryannemistretta.wordpress.com/2013/06/11/cheese-is-not-a-vegetarian-item/
Well, the restaurant responded to my email:
Maryanne,
Thank you for your response and you are right that is not vegetarian. Our Executive staff has been informed. THAT WILL NOT BE ON OUR NEW MENU.
We Appreciate your response and your patronage.
Have a Wonderful Weekend!!!
A Blessed & Happy Fathers Day
Best regards,
XXXXXXX
See how it always pays to speak your mind! I hope this inspires vegans and vegetarians to speak up more often!

That’s awesome! & Such a quick response!
Excellent! Great customer service, right? 🙂
Hope your having a great weekend… hugs Paula xxx
Wow, they actually responded. That’s great!
Yeah, I was totally shocked. This doesn’t happen to often in NJ 🙂
Good for you! I find this list really helpful: http://cheese.joyousliving.com/. Say “cheese!”
😀
One more thing: Trader Joe’s has an in-store list of vegetarian rennet cheeses. (Ours does, anyways.) You can print the list online, too! Isn’t that great?

That’s where I get my rennetless cheese — Trader Joe’s, yay! And it’s dirt cheap too 🙂
Good for them, and good for you for pointing out their error in a thoughtful and constructive way!
Thanks, I’m going to try this with more restaurants. Maybe it can be a new hobby of sorts 🙂
It can count when we speak up, can’t it?
