Bloganuary Challenge – Day 13 – What Does Your Ideal Day Look Like?

Published January 13, 2022 by Maryanne

This photo taken a few months ago says it all–grateful.

I can honestly say, 99 percent of my days are ideal days. I live my life to the fullest. I’m blessed to be a writer for a living, and do some side gigs modeling (over 50) and acting as a mom in videos and indie movies. I also ghost write, edit, and work events.

Some of the more spectacular days are with my husband. We love to eat at our favorite restaurants (vegan for me) and go to concerts. (Thanks to my writing career, most of these concerts are free!) Or sometimes just go to a park or take a ride down the shore. From time to time we go on trips (and sometimes I even have a business trip), but the best days are spent at home with the kitties, listening to music.

So, an ideal day can be any of the above, especially if I’m feeling optimal–which most of the time I am.

The other day, when a new client accepted a piece I wrote, I cried like a baby–tears of joy. I never take for granted that I get paid for my talent. A few times–again and again–I tried to take on a “normal” job, but it just doesn’t work for me. I’m not a fan of office politics and gossip and game playing and gas lighting. I just want to live my life best as I can and give back to the community. I want to tell my story, and stories of others. Over the years it’s been fun interviewing musicians and celebrities, but it’s even better going into cities and talking to people who are making a difference. Like the time I interviewed a bunch of cops who gave up their free turkeys to give them to homeless. Or the time I interviewed children who read more than 50 books in a year! It’s positive, happy things like this that keep me going and make me happy to be alive.

So, for me, an ideal day would go like this:

Getting up with my husband, listening to records and playing with our kitties.

Giving myself a facial and working out.

Writing an article that makes a difference.

Going out to a concert, or for dinner by ourselves or with friends.

That’s an ideal day, and I’ve had thousands of them!
