Sinclair gas stations are so cool because they have a dinosaur symbol. These stations are rare but my husband and I spotted one today in New Jersey! (And coincidentally, I was wearing my dinosaur dress!
Dennis said, “Get out of the car and I’ll take your picture. This is a photo op that couldn’t have gone any better if we planned it!”
More than a century old, there are currently over 1600 stations in the USA.
Sinclair Oil Corporation was founded by Henry F. Sinclair, May 1, 1916. They started using the dinosaur in their advertising in 1930. The type of oil they used was said to have formed during the Mesozoic Era, when dinosaurs ruled the planet! Sinclair even had a dinosaur television commercial in the 1960s and their mascot dinosaur, named Dino, was a 60 foot balloon in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade from 1963 to 1977.
At a time where gas prices are sky high, seeing a cute dinosaur at a station definitely softens the blow and puts a smile on your face!
Do you have a Sinclair station near you? I’m dying to know!
