Rover’s Relief CBD Salve for Pets

Published October 18, 2019 by Maryanne

Rover's Relief

Earlier this week I helped out at a pet expo for two reasons: 1. To network with those who were possibly interested in my professional blogging services or having me ghost write their books (after all, anyone who is self-employed should have a book no matter what line of work they are in); 2. I LOVE ANIMALS! And nothing beats a good score of new products for my kitties. They truly deserve the best.

When you’re a person like myself, either on the go (driving long distances) or at home plugging away on the computer (writing assignments or my next book!), no matter how much you love your life and what you do, you are bound to get a little stressed and achy.

A few weeks ago I noticed a pinch in my shoulder area. I was right on it with acupuncture and chiropractic treatments. Not quite yet healed, I was starting to feel a little achy in the shoulder area again.

Around this time I met RaChelle Lobre, of Rover’s Pet (roverspet.com). I’m always ready to share the story of how CBD oil made my cat Bennie more comfortable during his final days here on earth. Then I got to talking about my achy shoulder. RaChelle suggested taking a big glob of Rover’s Relief CBD salve and putting it on my shoulder.

I did as she suggested and within minutes, my shoulder pain stopped. This salve helped me more than any of the acupuncture or chiropractic treatments did! I was now able to dress and undress without being in pain.

That night I slept like a baby. I woke up the next day feeling like a brand new person, ready to face the world! Hell, if it’s good enough for Rover, it’s good enough for me!

This premium hemp salve contains 500mg CBD oil, and no THC. It’s easy to use and smells pleasant. I recommend using before bedtime because it truly relaxes you.

If Rover’s Pet worked that good for me, imagine what it could do for a dog?

Our babies count on us to give them nothing but the best. If your pet can use a little relief, this is a product I trust and recommend.

Silk18 Shampoo For Men And Women

Whenever Maple Holistics comes out with a new product, I’m totally jazzed!

First, I’m always on the look out for cruelty free products. I’ve been cruelty free since the mid-1990s. That said, it’s hard to find a cruelty free product that’s actually good. But with Maple Holistics, you can never go wrong.

I’ve used their products in the past, so I’ve been a fan for some time: https://maryannemistretta.wordpress.com/2017/11/04/maple-holistics-tea-tree-shampoo/

The new Silk18 shampoo is my latest product addiction. It really does make your hair silky soft. And the scent is absolutely lovely. It makes my hair smell like a delicious vanilla vegan cookie! It doesn’t leave a filmy residue.

And while it doesn’t say “hypoallergenic,” it seems like it is. In the past I’ve had issues using other all natural, cruelty free brands; so I’m limited in what products I can use. But Maple Holistics is a brand I can trust and count on. It’s paraben and sulfate free!

Silk 18 Maple Holistics

Silk 18

Still hooked on Maple Holistics,  the next product I tried was Silk 18 conditioner. I am in love! Once again, in true Maple Holistic fashion, their product brings out the highlights in my hair. At this point, I am just days away from another coloring. Since I had a new stylist, I’ve been rocking the ombre, with a glaze color on top and foil highlight on the bottom. When you reach that seventh week part, the color always fades dull. But when I use Maple Holistics, the color just pops and I’m always getting compliments on my hair.

But what’s very special about Silk 18 is the gorgeous vanilla scent! I love using this condition so much. I think you will too!

Maple Holistic products are all cruelty free; all natural; and while they don’t say “hypoallergenic” I’ve been safely using them regularly. I don’t have problems (like eyes tearing) as I did with other cruelty free, all natural shampoos.

Maple Holistics Argan Shampoo

Argan Shampoo

Once again I scored another winner from Maple Organics! Their Argan Shampoo, which is cruelty free and all natural has the most beautiful smell and makes your hair incredibly silky soft, even two days after your shampoo!

My latest hair color is an ombre with a burgundy glaze on top, and blonde highlights on the bottom. While both my glaze and ombre colors have now faded quite a bit, Argan really made the shades pop again and brought out the best in my highlights.

And let’s talk about BODY! My hair was so bouncy, it still looked cute after I took off my winter hat!

After using this shampoo, I may not want to go back to any others.

When It Comes to Food, Go Where the Love Is!

Published September 24, 2015 by Maryanne

SAM_8617Having fun — at a DINER! ❤

I recently became managing editor of an upcoming food magazine. It’s a great thing, because I love to eat. I flip flop between eating very healthy and going for good ol’ diner food. And there’s a reason why I am not militant about eating healthy all the time.

When I first came on board as managing editor, I was thrilled to see how many farm-to-table restaurants there are, but a little leery about the pretense that comes with it. I’ve been to so many restaurants, some are just too “foo foo” for my tastes that I’d never set foot in them again.

Of all the restaurants I’ve been to in my life, I have to say Pure Food & Wine on Irving in New York City is the ONLY restaurant that rates five stars with both food and service. Every time I’ve been there, I’ve been treated like a queen and the food was amazing. But then again, what do you expect from a place that has a $6000 Japanese water filter?! The water is like silk!  And no attitudes at all! That’s why Pure Food & Wine will always be my favorite. However, I don’t live in NYC, so I don’t get to go as much as I’d like. And since no other restaurant quite adds up to Pure Food & Wine, it’s often a toss up. What is most important? Good food? Good service? Healthy, natural food? Price?

Your guess is as good as mine. If I’m going out to eat, it just depends what area I’m in that day.

About half a year ago, I vowed never to go back to a certain gluten-free eatery because the service was the pits. Today I was in a health food store I was never in before. The cashiers and manager had such piss poor attitudes. These are the kind of women my husband and I call “Health Hags.” That means women who work in a health food store but are ugly inside and out, the opposite of a picture of health!

I gave this terrible store bad reviews all over the internet and even sent them an email that they could learn something from McDonalds. Check out this heart-warming story: http://nextshark.com/mcdonalds-worker/

I won’t even talk about the food I got in that health food store today because it’s irrelevant. When you get bad service, you can’t even properly enjoy your food. Of course you’re upset so you eat without truly tasting. This is why I say, it’s sometimes better to eat cheaper, crappier food — IF you are in a more relaxed environment.

The other day when I was on the cable show in Long Island, my friend and I hit a diner on the way back. We had Greek salads and sweet potato fries. Of course the salad was non-organic. And the fries were probably sugar-coated. But because the service was so fantastic, we ate in peace and really enjoyed our meal, which was stretched out to two hours! This is most likely why they say countries like France and Italy have less of an obesity rate than the United States — because they eat slow and enjoy. When you’re not stressed, you digest better. This is why I say, you can eat all the kale you want, but if you’re not happy, it ain’t gonna do you any good! (DO YOU HEAR THAT HEALTH HAGS?!)

So, next time you’re thinking about going on the road, please, do not stress over cooking in your hotel room or even seeking out the nearest health food store. Just go to a freakin’ diner and ENJOY! You’ll probably get a sexy cougar type waitress, chewing gum and calling you “Hunny Bunny.” Can’t beat that and you certainly won’t get that kind of cool in a farm-to-table restaurant or health food store!

Joseph Mercola’s Maple Miracle Whey Protein Powder

I’m all about free samples … who isn’t?

So I was thrilled to see a container of Joseph Mercola’s Maple Miracle Whey Protein powder at my doorstep! I won the product via a promotion.

It’s extremely tasty and you can feel a difference in your energy right away. It can probably be a weight loss supplement too as I felt extremely full after drinking just one scoop in a glass of water, though a serving is two scoops. I mixed my second scoop in grass-fed yogurt with blueberries.

I feel amazing!

Natural Product Rave: SinuOrega Nasal Spray

Published May 17, 2015 by Maryanne

oregaI think I’m in love!

Aw, man, allergy season is the worst!

While some people’s allergies give them eyes that won’t stop watering, I’m the opposite — mine won’t water enough. I have a blocked tear duct and the allergy settles in my right eye and just looks gross: blood red in one spot.

Now, mind you, not only was my eye red, I had an ear infection, my nose was clogged up and I was struggling with migraines for two days.

Friday, I started using SinuOrega by P73 and my eye got a little bit clearer. Saturday morning I woke up and the eye was more clear but not 100 percent yet. But my ear still hurt and the migraine came back again. Saturday morning I had to work. I was hired as an extra for a commercial and would not cancel at the last minute. I professionally did the job with a big smile on my face (what a blessing to work with such nice people) then when I got home early afternoon, I did something I rarely do — I took a nap!

I prepared a little “home spa” for myself. I surrounded myself with Young Living “Peace and Calming” oil to help me rest. (And dabbed a bit on my cat’s head so he wouldn’t wake me). I grabbed a box of tissues and well as the Sinu Orega which I took every two hours or so as I drifted in and out of sleep watching “Sex and the City” — the best episodes, from 1999.

After I ate dinner, I slept some more and went to bed very early.

This morning I woke up feeling like a brand new person!

Red eye = GONE!

Ear ache = GONE!

Migraine = GONE!

And not only that, when I exercised, I experienced something I haven’t experienced in ages. My body felt so good that even a stretch was unnecessary! When I stretched my quads, it was like even my muscles were brand new! I mean, I’m sure the rest had something to do with it, but I think also the miracle of the Oreganol helped me sleep. Worry keeps you awake and your body knows when you can trust a product and finally relax. It’s also fascinating how a bad sinus infection can dictate how your entire body feels, right down to the muscles!

Several years ago, I had a nagging cold that wouldn’t let up. It was going on three weeks and someone recommended Oreganol P73 and I felt better within days. This is a product that should always be kept in the holistic medicine cabinet.
