It was super exciting to return to The Health & Wellness Show as a guest a few evenings ago. While I was the featured author, there were also two chiropractors. This event was fun and inspirational. We also sang some Christmas songs.
My husband and I had a five-star Memorial Day weekend. Sunday we had two parties hosted by friends, all either musicians, music fans or music journalists … so you can just imagine the great music and great conversation. (And of course, great food!) It was absolutely awesome seeing old friends and meeting new ones too.

And today we spent the day with my father-in-law at a private lake. An adorable little girl was determined to talk to me. She was staring at me and smiling at me all day. Of course I always smiled back and waved. She finally got the nerve to approach me and she told me that her dad’s initials were “P.P.” I laughed so hard.
I always wonder when children become focused on a particular person like that, if she was reincarnated and knew me in a past life. It just strikes me bizarre, out of all the people at the lake she chose me to talk to.
In addition to all the loved ones we spent time with, we also spent a lot of time with cute animals. From a bunny to baby ducks to horses, I certainly got my animal therapy this weekend!
Earlier today someone called my home. It was a bad connection and we could barely hear each other, like an overseas phone call.
The guy kept repeating, “You don’t know who this is?”
“No, I don’t know who it is. Tell me.”
Then the guy starts yelling at me, “Grandma! You don’t even know your own grandson?!”
I said, “I’m sorry, I’m not your Grandma. You have the wrong number.”
He apologized. After we hung up I laughed. Then I really thought about what had happened and how sweet it was that someone, somewhere, was calling their grandmother. And how lucky they were to still have a grandmother. I was touched.
YES! I’ve come up with the least offensive Seasons Greeting — suitable for ALL!
If you say, “Happy Holidays” it offends Christians. If you say “Merry Christmas” it offends everyone else. So just say, “Happy Birthday!”
Happy Birthday is a win-win-win, because #1 Christians will think you’re saying Happy Birthday to Jesus; #2 Others will think you meant to say “Happy Holidays”; #3 Those who have birthdays around this time of year and often feel neglected because of the holiday hoopla will feel extra special!
My husband and I got up at the crack of dawn to hit the beach early. It was so refreshing being in the sun several hours and having the beach to ourselves before others arrived. Then you can come home early and still have a whole day ahead of you — relaxed!
So psyched to go to a party, hosted by our good friends Paul and Mary Anne.
Relaxing with my hunny, reading retro rock magazines.
(Our host Paul Reitz used to write for this one!)

It was excellent ending the week at a party at Paul and Mair’s home. We had delicious snacks and great music. We watched the rerun of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame. I agreed with all the inductees this time: Peter Gabriel, Linda Ronstadt, Nirvana, Cat Stevens.
Also watched some of “Nomi Song,” about the life of Klaus Nomi.
So much fun, but I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves!
