Dusk Before Rainfall
Last night my husband and I went out celebrating some awesome things that are happening in our lives! We had a nice dinner at one of our favorite little Italian restaurants.
I was so happy, I didn’t want the night to end, so even though it seemed it was going to rain, I just stayed outside … and ended up taking this cool shot! I love how the leaves pop. I did this with a regular camera, no filters. I’m not the photographer of our family, that would be my husband, so you can just imagine how happy I get when I do come up with something semi-decent! 🙂

So cool that I captured this beautiful sky — perfect timing as just minutes later the sky had darkened.
I just love late summer/early fall in New Jersey!
Dennis took this one!
On hot summer days, one looks forward to evening when it cools down and becomes more refreshing.
I love, last night, going for a super long walk in the woods with my husband, starting out at the end of the day, while the sun is still out and wearing sunglasses. Then it starts to cool, the sun goes down and there we have it — twilight!
In addition to seeing deer and birds and other little critters, we caught the almost-full moon in all her glory!
Long Beach Island, New Jersey – at twilight
My favorite time of the day is twilight and I make it a point to be outside during this time as much as possible.
I just love the pink and blue skies, which always remind me of a Maxfield Parrish painting.
“Look at that Maxfield Parrish sky!” I am often heard saying.
The weather cools as the sun starts to set. Birds are flying to a safe haven for the night. Life starts to quiet down.
It’s the prettiest part of the day, and it goes so quickly.
I stand on my doorstep sucking every bit of the twilight into my soul before I’m ready to call it a day.
It’s twilight time. And I could live forever in the twilight zone.
