SAM_2518Coconut Lime Macaroons

The above is a photograph of Coconut Lime Macaroons I made improvising on a Young Living recipe.

Here’s my version of their Dairy-Free Coconut Lime Macaroons

Ingredients

12 oz. shredded unsweetened coconut flakes

1 can organic unsweetened coconut milk

1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

Pinch of Himalayan sea salt

1 pastured egg, including yolk

8 drops Lime Vitality essential oil

4 drops Bergamot Vitality essential oil

Directions

Preheat oven to 325F.

In a large bowl, combine shredded coconut, condensed coconut milk, and lime juice. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, beat egg with a pinch of sea salt. Add Lime Vitality and Bergamot Vitality. Then stir into the coconut mixture. Mix well.

Pour batter into cupcake pan. The batter makes 18.

Bake 20 minutes. Macaroons will be lightly browned.

Cool and ENJOY!

Get White Teeth Naturally, at Any Age

Published February 23, 2016 by Maryanne

SAM_9630Age 52

A few days ago I updated my Facebook profile page with this photograph I took over the weekend. A couple friends complimented my white teeth, so I thought I’d share my secret.

Earlier this year I started a practice called “oil pulling.” You take a tablespoon of coconut oil and swish it around your mouth for 20 minutes. That seemed a bit “much” for me, so I changed the rules a bit. I use less than a teaspoon of coconut oil and swish for 10 to 15 minutes instead of the full 20.

The benefits of doing this is to get rid of bacteria in your mouth, whiten teeth, prevent gum disease, and even prevent heart disease! Just Google “oil pulling” and see for yourself.

Note, I always brush my teeth afterwards. Some people say that you don’t have to, but I do.

Now, to up the anti, I started putting a drop of Thieves Young Living Oil into the coconut oil. This is what gives my smile that “just polished” look. Even after a meal my teeth still look and feel fresh.

This is a much better option than getting your teeth chemically whitened. It’s healthier and cheaper!

My Favorite Colour is Autumn

Energized, alive, and ecstatic!

Here in New Jersey, we are enjoying the best autumn we’ve had in ages. The weather has been absolutely the best it’s been in a long time. Days are warm, yet crisp, ranging between 50 and 70 degrees. And, yesterday, the day after Halloween, so many houses and venues still had decorations up, so my husband and I basked in the Halloween joy of the season!

SAM_9142Waiting for my food at Beana’s

Still celebrating the Halloween weekend and approaching Cinco De Mayo, it seemed like a perfect time to grab a Mexican meal. We pigged out at Beana’s in Rahway (http://www.beanasmexicanrestaurant.com/). I had shrimp fajitas with a side of guacamole. Sitting across from me is my handsome husband, who doesn’t like having his pictures on the internet, but take my word for it, he’s super! ❤

We LOVE this clever chiropractic advertisement! But luckily since I started using Young Living Oils over a year ago, I haven’t the need to see a chiropractor or an acupuncturist! At 52 I have the back of a 20-something! If I sleep wrong, I just mix a bit of Pan Away with some coconut oil and I am good to go! That can be YOU! SAM_9134Pumpkins!

Whether they’re real or fake, pumpkins are just the cutest part of the season. Last night my husband and I went to a “Pumpkin Sail” (yes, a pumpkin sail, not sale!) Children carve pumpkins then send them down the lake on a platform with a votive candle inside. It was so pretty watching them float along the river, heading down to the little falls.

And, finally, in Halloween spirit, we visited the house of The Watcher in Westfield, New Jersey.

If you Google, “The Watcher, Westfield, New Jersey” you’ll come up with a crazy story about a phantom watcher who writes anonymous notes to residents. The most recent residents were terrified and are suing the people who sold them the home because they weren’t told about what’s been happening at this house for ages.

My husband was brave enough to go up to the doorstep. I stayed behind. From where I stood it looked like the mailbox was full of mail. The vibe was creepy. Not a soul to be seen and an empty driveway. However, the homes around The Watcher house were full of life, lights on, Halloween decorations and cars in the driveways.

When my husband reached the doorway, the floor of the porch creaked!

Welcome to My Opium Den …

SAM_7929Having Fun with Young Living Oils

Not really! Ha-ha!

But if you want to talk about being RELAXED — let’s talk Young Living Oils!

Last night I mixed Myrtle, Believe and Peace & Calming oils and felt so unbelievably calm and at peace, I joked around and said, “Welcome to my opium den!”

It’s just amazing what a profound effect you can get from using all natural oils (and as a bonus, Young Living Oils have no synthetics, they are 100 percent PURE!) I felt so good I was in la-la land!

Imagine going to bed feeling no pain and then waking up without a hangover or the extra calories or the munchies?! (And without the guilt of doing something illegal?)

Of course we should all be high on life, naturally, and Young Living Oils will get you there! (Especially when you get your royalty checks each month — nothing like free money!)

Young Living “Star”

Published April 6, 2015 by Maryanne

YL StarFrom Young Living Email

Today I received an email from Young Living Essential Oils, “Congratulations to our newest STAR.”

I’ve been a Young Living “Distributor” since November and absolutely love the oils. I’ve been sharing them with family and friends and a few hopped on board. Not only do I love their oils, but I love their lotions, hand soaps, toothpaste, soaps, etc. Now instead of getting all this stuff at Whole Foods each month, I buy directly from Young Living and get commission checks. How great is that? As an author I know what it’s like to make money while you sleep (people buy your books and then you get royalty checks), and Young Living is another business to add to my mix of “I love my life! I’m making a living doing things I believe in!”

I was thrilled to receive an email that my status went from “Distributor” to “Star” — pretty fast and effortlessly! The cool thing is, the oils just sell themselves because they are an amazing product.

Young Living Essential Oils are all natural, with no synthetics. So even with my allergy situation, I can use the oils without worry! They are not only healthy, but magical!

Some of the oils I use on a regular basis include:

Abundance  (self explanatory — and yes, it magically works!)

Thieves (for immune system)

Peace & Calming (to relax)

Believe (to sleep)

Valor (for circulation)

Wintergreen (for pain)

Peppermint (for headaches – I never get migraines anymore, thank you Young Living!)

Joy (self explanatory)

Frankincense (for spiritual experiences)

Lavender (for the occasional dry eye — just put a little above your brow and your eye feels better)

Citrus (it’s fabulous on sweet potatoes!)

And this is just a TIP of the iceberg … as there are hundreds of oils, and they are doing wonders on larger scales, helping children with autism, vets who suffer from trauma, and even our little pets (we just swipe Derick the Pussycat on his back with some Peace & Calming oil at night and he sleeps soundly!)

My husband loves the oils too and he’s always putting them in the diffuser. Our home always seems lovely — and exciting! He loves the Patchouli.

It takes many stars to fill a galaxy and we all help each other! So I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my galaxy of ladies: Susan Pelechaty, Patricia A. Deck-Arce, Sharron Anderson, Rochelle Metroka and Bridget Briant. Also thanks to my husband, Dennis; and to my Mom and Sister for supporting and trying the Young Living Products.

Do you want to join my galaxy? Earn money while you sleep; experience good health naturally; and live magically! Email me at: maryannechristiano@gmail.com — I’ll get you on board on my team!

Soft Sell

I was very happy going to my accountant yesterday. Not because I’m happy to pay taxes, but because I was able to share with him that my business is finally exactly the way I want it: author, journalist, book editor and public speaker.

Marketing was always in the mix, but I always hated it, though it was a lot of fun at times, especially when I scored. However, I’m so relieved that at this point in my life, the only person I’m promoting is myself (subtly).

When people say “no” I take it as a “no.” No means no, not maybe. No means moving on to the next person. Maybe means the same. I don’t harass people until they say “yes.”

And what is really cool about this method is that out of the blue, people contact me to speak or to write articles or to use my services. People find me via word of mouth, from my lectures or from my website. It’s the greatest feeling in the world when people come to you without you even trying.

I call this “spiritual marketing.”

Not too long ago, November of last year, I became a distributor of Young Living Oils. The person who got me on board makes a ton of money selling these oils. I hopped on board, not for the money — because face it, if making money is your ultimate goal, there are a ton of things you can do to make money — but because I believe in the product.

As a Young Living person I was taught the tools — to promote on Face Book, to have parties, to learn about the oils, to share with EVERYONE you know, etc.

I did none of that.

I got people on board, organically and honestly. By simply sharing what I loved about the oils when (AND IF!) they came up in conversation. One friend who came on board said she did so because I “wasn’t pushy.”

The words “Young Living” have a bad reputation. Some say it’s cult-like. Some use the oils and believe they are the end-all. Me, I love the oils very much and use them every day. I enjoy them. And I want to share them with those who can also benefit. And like every other good thing in my life — that is the end of it. Young Living Oils are a part of my life, not MY LIFE. I love Young Living Oils, but I am not of that cult. I’m merely in the corner, not in the spotlight and certainly not losing my religion.

Even if I made all the money in the world selling Young Living Oils, it would not stop me from doing other things I love like writing books and public speaking. I don’t see Young Living Oils as the “retirement plan” many say it is. Selling oils is just not creative enough to make me happy. (Though the creative health aspect of it excites me which is why I am so into it!)

My point is, some people get through life by being a hard sell. And that is not me. While my personality is pretty dynamic, I’m not a pushy person. I’m a live and let live type. All I have in life came to me in a natural way: My husband, my cats, my friendships, my career …

I’m not saying I’m a slacker. No, not by any means. But via the Law of Attraction, I ALLOW good things into my life. I do not FORCE them.

And guess what? I’m doing really, really good by this holistic method.

We live in a society where everyone wants everything fast. Women push men into relationships and marriage. People don’t climb the corporate ladder anymore, they sprint up skipping many great steps along the way. I have to say, as successful as some of these people are, I kind of feel sorry for some of them.

There’s a beauty in going slow and waiting for the all goodness in the world. I wish more people would see that. By being a late bloomer and taking my time, I think I enjoy my life more than those who whiz through it. I do take big chances though. I’ve left jobs without another lined up. Same with boyfriends when I was single. But that all falls into the category of not forcing things to happen.

I remember, back when I was 12, I dug a catchy hook in an Al Stewart song, “Nothing that’s forced can ever be right, if it doesn’t come naturally leave it.”

I took those lyrics to heart and still do. From dating boys to job hunts to finally running my business and being an amazing wife, kitty mom and friend … nothing should ever be hard or forced. Just enjoy your life and all you do — that is when the good fortune comes, when you’re relaxed about it.
