I LOVE LOVE LOVE April Fool’s Day!
I just love jokes, and fun and making people laugh, so today will be super fun for me!
Every year I trick people and pull fun jokes. It’s hard when you work at home, alone, but I will definitely get my husband.
The best trick someone pulled on me was when I was working in Hoboken. A young stranger asked me where “Sesame” was.
Hoboken is a fairly big city and I was confused … where is “Sesame”? I didn’t know. I was stunned, trying to think of where it could be.
He looked at me and started laughing. He said “What day is this?”
Okay … April Fool’s Day! He was going with the old, “Can you tell me how to get … how to get to Sesame Street.” (Of course there was no Sesame Street!)
Here are some foolish songs to enjoy today:
Daniel Ash – FOOLISH Thing Desire
Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers – Why Do FOOLS Fall in Love
Elvin Bishop – Fooled Around and Fell in Love
Foreigner – FOOL For You Anyway
Reblogged this on Maryanne's Jukebox.
Where’s Sesame Street? LMAO ….It’s a sad day for my husband as his sister was born April 1st and died 2 years ago from cancer at 45. Hugs Paula xxxx
So sorry for your loss.. ((HUGS)) xo
P.S. – Come to think of it, I lost my beloved Aunt Tommie around this time too, 40 years ago, I was only 9. She was a doll — my favorite aunt ever and the first time I lost someone I loved. My mom said I didn’t have to go to the funeral because it would be “too sad.”
Ha ha! and here are two more songs;
Everybody’s Somebody’s Fool by Connie Francis
Fool on a Hill by the Beatles

EXCELLENT! Thanks so much, Carmen π
Hoboken is famous for April Fool’s jokes and for being the home of Cake Boss Buddy Velastro and being the birthplace of Frank Sinatra in 1915.
The first baseball game was played in Hoboken in 1846.
That’s so cool! I love Hoboken, I worked two different jobs there, one was Outlaw Biker Enterprises on Marine View Plaza from 1995 to 1996. Another was G&H Soho Publishing from 1998 to 2000 (big mistake leaving that job — it was great!)
Maryanne, Have you ever been to Carlo’s Bakery in Hoboken?
I’ve passed it, but I’m not really a “bakery” person. Especially in Hoboken because they have (or had) two great health food stores. π
Bakeries probably have the most unhealthy foods out there, so can see why you don’t go to bakeries. That is why I wonder how Subway sandwiches can be healthy, when you have a foot of bread on top and bottom of sandwich.
A lot of places claim to be healthy and they’re not, but sadly, some people don’t understand what is healthy. You can’t fault them, it’s complicated and it takes years to figure it all out. I’m still learning π
I have heard that Burger King had a chicken sandwich with 42 grams of fat, which Chick-Fil-A had a chicken sandwich with 9 grams of fat.
I wouldn’t trust either because it’s fried foods and fast food. Maybe as a treat, but not something to eat on a regular basis. Fat isn’t the enemy unless it’s hydrogenated. Good fats are avocados, olive oil, nuts — those things are so healthy.
Hope cashews are healthy….Pecans and cashews are my favorites.
Yes, they are both healthy. And if you eat a handful of them with fruit, it will help slow the sugar process of fruit. Sometimes I’ll blend cashews, making a “cream” and pour them over blueberries. YUM!
Blended cashews and blueberries sounds yummy.
Wow, I didn’t know! Thanks Andrew π
One of the best April Fool’s pranks was when Taco Bell announced they had bought the Liberty Bell and would rename it the Taco Bell Liberty Bell.
I didn’t know that! That’s so funny and it would be even funnier if they used the Taco Bell Chihuahua as statue of liberty! π
The presidential news secretary played along with the Taco Bell Liberty Bell by announcing that the Ford Motor Co. had bought the Lincoln Memorial. Natural tie-in with Ford’s Lincoln-Mercury dealers. Loved the Taco Bell Chihuahua ads.
What year was this? This sounds amazing!
1996.
Google has announced that it is shutting down You Tube today and won’t bring it back till 2023.
YouTube announced it was shutting down completely. The past eight years have actually just been a contest to determine the best video ever made. The service has finally collected enough entries and will begin the long reviewing and judging process to select a winner. The process will only take 10 years to sift through 150,000 finalists, the site said.
Ha-ha, that has to be a joke π
Yes..it is a April Fool’s Day joke. YouTube is going to start a streaming music service so know they are not going to wait till 2023 to start it up.

And I like the little dog on the tarot card, reminding us how our pets “play” us — the original tricksters π
Twitter made this April Fool’s Day announcement:
Twitter announced it was splitting its service into two, with a full, paid version that will charge for vowels ($5/month) and a free version called “Twttr” that will allow only consonants. Part-time vowel “Y” will continue to be free, and the length of tweets is being expanded to 141 characters.
“We’re doing this because we believe that by eliminating vowels, we’ll encourage a more efficient and ‘dense’ form of communication,” the company announced in its April Fools’ blog post
Cute!
I loved Elvis’ songs on fools. Fools, fools, fools!
Enjoyed this π
LOL! Yeah, Elvis had a lot of songs on fools, but he seemed to be more the player than the play-ee π
I love April Fool’s Day as well (unless I’m fooled and then all bets are off) π
I love to be fooled. No one ever plays with me — except the young man I mentioned on Hoboken many years ago. God bless him, wherever he may be π
I’d like to go on Oprah just to try to contact the only man who dared to fool me. He deserves some kind of award π
Hello, just for your interest, The Fool’s card in Tarot is not so much about being foolish but following your heart. It indicates a new path or a new beginning/journey to embark upon. It may not be logical but it is about heart and passion.
Thanks so much! I have tarots but rarely use them. I liked this particular picture because there’s a dog in the card and I took it that our pets always play us the “fool” — they’re the master, we’re the pet π
Hey, that would be a great new way to add meaning to a reading when the Fool comes up in the deck. I like that. And a dog is always a loyal companion. Great I learned something that I can add to the readings. I love the raider-Waite Deck because the meaning is in the picture itself. i have been doing Tarot for like 30 years now.
That’s so cool! I can sometimes pick up psychic things about people. One time right after a car accident I was telling a nurse about her love life. She kept saying, “you’re right, you’re right.” I even knew what the guy looked like. It’s not something I can do on demand though — not even with myself.
Fooled Around and Fell In Love by Elvin Bishop on your list is one of best songs ever recorded.
Awesome belated happy April Fools Day. I think we all need to embody a little of the fool archetype (hopefully deliberately and not by default lol). The trickster archetype keeps things interesting, fresh and vital π
Absolutely! π
