Kudos to Surf Taco for Low Prices and Excellent Quality!

SAM_4123GT’s Synergy Kombucha, only $3.79 at Surf Taco!

My husband Dennis and I have been a fan of Surf Taco for several years now. And I was even more impressed today, finding out they now carry kombucha in their Red Bank facility. Mind you, I’m not a “hipster” — I’ve been drinking this stuff since 2004!

But even more wonderful is that Surf Taco is awesome enough to keep the price low! In most grocery stores (Shop Rite, Whole Foods and Fairway) GT’s kombucha is $3.59. And in indie health food stores I’ve seen it as high as $4, even $5!

So a big shout out to Surf Taco for keeping it real!

Thank you Surf Taco — you rock!

And while I’m at it, I might add that their vegan burrito is to die for! Which brings me to another reason to give three cheers to Surf Taco — they know what vegan means (no cheese!) YAY!

Gerard & Diane Barros, Glen Ridge Public Library

Gerard and Diane Barros are one of several entertainers I manage at my business, Pear Tree Enterprises (www.peartreeenterprises.com). Not only do I represent them, but I am a big fan too! This couple’s talent never ceases to amaze me and they are always adding new songs to their repertoire.

Today they performed at Glen Ridge Library, Glen Ridge, New Jersey — a show I booked them at — and had the audience in the palm of their hands. They did great covers by Fleetwood Mac, Carol King, Carly Simon, Linda Ronstadt, Sonny & Cher, Simon & Garfunkel, The Andrew Sisters and more!

I had a fabulous time and look forward to their next performance! For more information, visit: http://barrosmelody.com/

With Humble Gratitude

Published April 23, 2014 by Maryanne

humble-thanks

Yesterday I was grateful that, as an author, I not only sold many books at a book signing, but that I was able to shake hands and chat with every single person who purchased a book. I said I never, ever, want to be the person who is “too busy” or “too overwhelmed” to not make someone feel as equally as special as they are making me feel. Life is a give and take and it’s important for us, as human beings to be at each others side, with no one above or below. With humble gratitude, I am thankful.

Book Reading/Signing Bergenfield Library, New Jersey

I had an amazing time this morning at the Bergenfield Library, where I did a book reading and signing for my first book: “On the Guest List: Adventures of a Music Journalist” (available on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/162903908X).

It was an excellent turn out! All the seats were filled! For the past several months I’ve been doing a lot of public speaking, but reading from your own book and having people enjoy it and say things like, “You were delightful” was phenomenal!

I shared several stories from my book including: My first concert (Meat Loaf), my friendship with the late Cyrinda Foxe, getting locked in Max’s Kansas City and hanging out with The Bay City Rollers!

I sold several books and I am ecstatic!

I carry the books in here, it brings me good luck!

They were at the Annabella Lwin show last fall and saw my blog about the show!

Sam and I had an excellent vegan lunch today at Loving Hut in Matawan, New Jersey (http://lovinghut.us/matawan_01/)

Of course I wanted to document the occasion with a photograph. Sam noticed this amazing quote on the wall, so we decided to pose there. And it was so relevant because we’re both such happy, positive, determined people who believe in creating our own destiny!

Here’s an article I wrote about Ben & Jerry’s giving back to the community: http://www.northjersey.com/news/ridgewood-ice-cream-shop-raises-money-for-paterson-habitat-for-humanity-1.917861

I had a wonderful time covering this story Tuesday afternoon. It was a gorgeous New Jersey day and I had a sample of the peanut butter/banana yogurt, which was fabulous!
