All weekend long the Resintopia extravaganza was held at the Crowne Plaza in Fairfield, New Jersey.

My husband Dennis and I got there just as they were closing shop for the evening, but with well enough time to hit the lounge, have a beer and some snack food and see the amazing New York surf band, The Octomen, with our friends Nick Conti and Ed O’Brien; as well as Vincent Bordogna. And we got to meet actor, Jeff Yager (see photos below) who also makes models and sculptures. He came from California to be a part of this fabulous event put on by Vincent Bordogna.

A good time was had by all, as The Octomen performed two great sets and people mingled.

This was the second year for Resintopia. Next year will be even bigger! We had a BLAST!

??????????????RESINTOPIA — COMING THIS WEEKEND!

I’m so looking forward to going to Resintopia, the plastic model kit and statue expo, this upcoming weekend at Crowne Plaza Fairfield, 690 Route 46 East, Fairfield, NJ on March 22, 23, and 24.

I definitely want to check out all the ultra cool models, chill with friends in the lounge, and enjoy the special musical guests, The Octomen.

Other special guests include sculpture extraordinaires: Jeff Yagher, Tim Bruckner and Jean-Louis Crinon.

A few days ago I had a chance to have lunch and chat with founder/CEO Vincent Bordogna, who’s been a very good friend of mine since the 1980s!

VinnieVincent Bordogna, Founder/CEO of Resintopia

According to Bordogna, Resintopia’s focus is on the talent in the hobby, with so many fun things to do. He said, “There has never been a show quite like it. Resintopia is filled with model kit firsts, contests and rare kits! Talk to experts and mingle with folks who make this hobby great. Enter the kit exhibition and contest with exclusive trophies, kits and cash prizes sponsored by Moebius Models. Learn new painting and modeling techniques and polish your skills by taking the AFM Modeling Clinics and the Blackheart/Badger Airbrush Academy classes offered at Resintopia. Sit in on questions and answers with sculptors.”

Bordogna’s passion for the hobby and appreciation of art and sculptors inspired him to start Resintopia two seasons ago. He said, “I wanted to bring a quality show to the east coast dedicated to the people who make the hobby great and give attendees a variety of exciting activities to participate in.”

As founder/CEO of Resintopia, Bordogna promotes the Resintopia show with the support of some of the finest sculptors, artists and kit producers in the hobby.

He said, “I coordinate the schedule of events and arrangements for sculptors, artist and kit producers  for each show with the help of good friends Fritz Frising (The Headless Hearseman) and Rob Rotundi. It’s a winning combination which brings out the best in us resulting in a new and unique experience for each show.”

If you’re in the area, come check out Resintopia!

In conclusion, Bordogna added, “Join us in our quest, saving the planet one kit at a time.”

Special music guests will be The Octomen, performing on Saturday night, March 23.
