Happies 5-18-24

Left to right, My sister Kim and Me, having fun at the Diana Ross show

The weekend kicked off amazingly (though every day is a weekend for me, really!).

My husband, sister, and I went to see Diana Ross perform. It was the first time for all of us, to see this legend! She did Supremes song (my favorite “Baby Love”) and many songs from her extensive solo career, plus some new music which was also very good. Her daughter Rhonda Ross did a few of her songs too. We had a blast! What I especially loved is that Diana did full songs, none of that “medley of hits” which I absolutely can not stand! She was gracious and elegant.

The rest of the weekend is filled with events I’m covering — two today, Weird NJ is having an afternoon tea in my hometown, highlighting little-known NJ legends, folklore, ghost sightings, and other fascinating stories; as well as teas and snacks. I’ll come home for my own little snack, then off to cover The Love + Unity Festival. And tomorrow, there’s a new dog park opening in West Orange, NJ.

Whew! But what a blessing this career is! And though I don’t have time to go see “Hair” again, at the Cranford Dramatic Club Theatre, I am so THERE IN SPIRIT!!! It’s their last weekend. If anyone reading is in the area, I highly encourage you to go!

Last week I interviewed Tony Award winning actress Michele Pawk. Here is the article: https://essexnewsdaily.com/arts/s-orange-based-tony-winner-to-be-honored?

And I also reported on the Move the Spectrum event: https://essexnewsdaily.com/arts/west-orange-high-school-hosts-2024-move-the-spectrum? These kids with disabilities were amazing, and I got all choked up when they sang “We Are the Champions” at the end of the event.

Enjoy the articles, and have a super duper weekend!
